Google has released Gemini 3.8 Flash, its third Flash update in six weeks. The model is aimed at developers who want stronger coding and reasoning without moving to a slower, more expensive flagship tier.

The introductory API price is $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through December 31, 2026. Google says the model is available through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Android Studio, Gemini Enterprise and selected consumer products.

A second version, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, is intended for vulnerability discovery and automated patching. Because it has fewer cyber restrictions, access is limited to approved defenders through Google's Fairwind Program.

What this means

  • Gemini 3.8 Flash focuses on coding, reasoning and autonomous agents.
  • Its introductory API price runs through the end of 2026.
  • The Cyber edition is restricted to trusted defenders.
